New Norwegian Ambassador meets South Korean President

13/12/2006 // Ambassador Didrik Tønseth presented his credentials to President Roh Moo-Hyun on 14 November. Thomas Bjørnholm, attaché at the Norwegian Embassy, accompanied the Ambassador to the Blue House.

Inside the presidential palace Ambassador Tønseth met with President Roh, foreign minister Song Min-Soon and representatives from the different ministries. The conversation between President Roh and Ambassador Tønseth reflected the friendly relations between South Korea and Norway, and the many issues that connect the two countries.

Among the topics touched upon was the South Korean shipbuilding industry, in which many Norwegian companies hold interests. Matters related to fisheries and aquaculture was also discussed, in addition to the Nobel Peace Prize.
