THE EMBASSY SMALL GRANT PROGRAMME
In addition, the Norwegian Embassy in Kiev operates a small grants programme, designed to support local initiatives working to promote sustainable development, good governance, democracy, human rights and gender equality. The small grants programme covers both Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus. In 2009, the Norwegian Embassy in Kiev supported over 30 projects focusing on closer regional cooperation and Euro-Atlantic integration, environment and cleaner energy, efforts to strengthen civil society and respect for human rights, and on institution-building, economic development and corporate social responsibility (CSR), amongst others.
For the 2010 small grants programme, the following guidelines apply:
• The grant is open for project applications up to 100.000 UAH, or 12.000 USD.
• There is no fixed deadline.
• The small grants will mainly be awarded to implementation of projects in Ukraine and Belarus, not for travel support and exchange programmes.
• Applicants are encouraged to forward their application electronically, using the Embassy’s application form (click here).
• All previous applicants must have submitted final reports and financial documentation of previous projects supported by the Norwegian Embassy in order to be eligible for new grants.
• The small grants programme does not cover cultural events or cultural exchanges.
The Embassy is currently accepting applications for 2010, but will only be able to start the processing of incoming applications towards the end of March 2010 due to a delay in the allocation of funding. For further information, please contact Ms. Vibeke Greni on vgr@mfa.no.
