Norwegian Folk Dance Gathering
Come and join Norsk Folkedans Stemne. It is a gathering of folk dancers and musicians who come together to celebrate their passion and knowledge for dance and music. This year the Norwegian Hedmark Danselag has been invited to perform and teach. Hedmark Danselag consists of 28 dancers, two fiddlers and one accordion and torader player. They will be teaching music and dances from mostly the southeastern part of Norway, such as Reinlender, Halling and much more. The group was formed in 1991 and has traveled and preformed worldwide since then. They were part of the official cultural program during the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer in 1994.
There will be instruction for both adults and children. Housing is available, either in lodge or camping.
When: August 6-8, 2004. Check-in is on Friday between 4-8pm.
Where: Camp Brotherhood Seattle, Washington.
